Privacy Policy
1. Introduction and Our Privacy-First Architecture
Easebox builds minimalist software tools and applications, including Easecart (for Shopify), Easereceipt, Easeclip, Easemask, Easereply, and Easereview (collectively, the "Services"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your end-customers.
Unlike traditional cloud software, Easebox products are engineered on a "Zero-PII Storage" (No Personal Identifiable Information Stored on Developer Servers) principle:
- For Shopify Apps (Easecart): All merchant configuration data (such as free shipping thresholds, excluded product tags, style settings, and selected upsell product IDs) is stored natively within your own Shopify store's database using Shopify Metafields. Storefront rendering and discount calculations execute natively on Shopify's CDN (Theme App Extensions) and Shopify's checkout runtime (Shopify Functions).
- For Browser & WebAssembly Tools (Easeclip, Easemask): All document and DOM processing occurs 100% locally within your web browser's memory. Your files are never uploaded to or stored on Easebox servers.
2. Information We Collect and Process
2.1 Information from Merchants and Users
When you install or use our Services (for example, installing Easecart via the Shopify App Store), we request only the minimum required platform permissions:
- Store Identifier & Basic Account Info: Your Shopify store domain, store currency, and primary contact email provided during OAuth installation solely for account authentication, billing management via the Shopify Billing API, and customer support when you contact us.
-
Read Products (
read_products): Used solely within the app admin interface to allow you to select candidate products for cart upsell recommendations and to display product titles, prices, and images. -
Write Discounts (
write_discounts): Used solely to register and update automatic shipping and order discount rules via Shopify Functions based on your settings. -
Read Themes (
read_themes): Used solely to verify whether the Theme App Extension block is enabled on your active theme and to provide a one-click deep link to the Shopify Theme Editor.
2.2 End-Customer (Shopper) Information — Zero Collection Policy
Easecart does NOT collect, transmit, store, or process any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) of your store's shoppers/end-customers (such as customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, IP addresses, or payment details).
- Cart subtotal evaluations and product recommendations inside the cart drawer are computed entirely using anonymous cart item prices, variant IDs, and product tags.
- We do not set third-party tracking cookies on your storefront, nor do we sell, rent, or share any merchant or shopper data with third parties or advertising networks.
3. How We Use Information
We use the limited merchant information described in Section 2.1 strictly to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the functionality of the Services.
- Process subscription billing directly through the official Shopify Billing API or Stripe (we never see or store your raw credit card details).
- Respond to your technical support inquiries sent to
support@easebox.app. - Comply with legal obligations and platform requirements.
4. Data Retention, Uninstallation, and Mandatory GDPR/Privacy Webhooks
-
Zero External Database Retention: Because Easecart stores your configuration directly in your Shopify store's Metafields (
$app:easecart), your data remains under your store's direct control and is automatically cleaned up upon app uninstallation. -
Shopify Mandatory Compliance Webhooks: We fully support and respond to Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:
customers/data_request: Because we do not collect or store shopper PII, our webhook confirms that no customer personal data is held by Easebox.customers/redact: Confirms immediate compliance as no shopper PII is stored.shop/redact: Triggered 48 hours after a merchant uninstalls the app; removes any temporary authentication session tokens associated with the store.
5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and Japan APPI)
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, and Japan), you have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of any account information associated with your use of our Services. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@easebox.app. We respond to all verified requests within 30 days (and typically within 24–48 hours).
6. Data Security
All communications between our administrative interface and Shopify APIs are encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS (HTTPS). Administrative routing is hosted on Cloudflare's secure edge network with strict security headers and zero persistent customer PII storage.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features in the Easebox suite or regulatory changes. Any updates will be posted on our Privacy Policy page (/privacy on https://easebox.app) with a revised "Last Updated" date.
